Arkansas Teacher Arrested for Alleged Murder of Hikers in Devil’s Den State Park

A 28-year-old Arkansas teacher, Andrew McGann, was arrested for allegedly stabbing a married couple, Clinton and Cristen Brink, to death during a hiking trip at Devil’s Den State Park. McGann was captured at a barbershop in Springdale after a manhunt and faces two counts of capital murder. Investigators report the attack appeared random, though McGann confessed and his DNA matched evidence found at the scene.

Arkansas State Police (ASP) arrested McGann at a barbershop in Springdale at 4:57 p.m. Wednesday. Officials said that McGann was in the midst of a haircut when ASP officers tracked down the fugitive following the lethal attack on Saturday.

McGann was charged with two counts of capital murder in connection to the killings of Clinton David Brink, 43, and Cristen Amanda Brink, 41, who were found dead on a walking trail. Their daughters, who are 7 and 9, were not hurt and are being cared for by family members, authorities said.
