The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces has announced that Russia has suffered approximately 1,018,940 troop losses in Ukraine since the full-scale invasion began on February 24, 2022. This includes 1,220 casualties from the past 24 hours. Additionally, Ukraine has reported significant Russian military equipment losses, including thousands of tanks, armored vehicles, and aircraft.
The report, released on June 29, provides a detailed breakdown of the toll on Russian military resources. Ukraine claims to have destroyed 10,976 tanks, 22,915 armored fighting vehicles, 53,508 vehicles and fuel tanks, 29,689 artillery systems, 1,425 multiple launch rocket systems, 1,189 air defense systems, 420 airplanes, 337 helicopters, 42,624 drones, 28 ships and boats, and one submarine. These figures represent a significant drain on Russia’s military capabilities, with the loss of both personnel and equipment continuing to escalate.
The data comes in the context of recent developments on the battlefield, including a drone strike on a military air base in Crimea. The attack, reported by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), destroyed three Russian helicopters—Mi-8, Mi-26, and Mi-28—and a Pantsyr-S1 anti-aircraft system. This marks another incident of Ukrainian forces using drone technology to strike Russian military assets, underscoring the evolving nature of the conflict.
