White House Calls Schiff’s Alleged Leaks Against Trump a ‘Bombshell’

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt described the recent release of testaments from a Democratic whistleblower, claiming that Sen. Adam Schiff authorized the leaking of classified information to damage Donald Trump during the Russiagate probe as a ‘bombshell.’ Leavitt highlighted that the whistleblower, a career intelligence officer with the Democrats, warned the FBI in 2017 about Schiff’s alleged actions. The whistleblower, a former member of the House Intelligence Committee, said Schiff had approved leaking information to smear Trump, which was deemed illegal. Schiff, a longtime political foe of Trump, has also been under scrutiny for mortgage fraud allegations. His office has dismissed the report as a ‘smear’ and criticized the reliability of the whistleblower, noting that an independent inspector, general found the claims to be unsubstantiated. The allegations come just weeks after another whistleblower, Tulsi Gabbard, claimed that Obama-era officials politicized intelligence to further a narrative about Russian collusion.
