Florida Woman Sets Python Challenge Record with 60 Snakes

During the 2025 Florida Python Challenge, Taylor Stanberry, a Florida woman, captured a record 60 Burmese pythons in the Everglades. The competition, which ran over a 10-day period, attracted over 900 participants from across the United States and Canada. As a result, a total of 294 invasive Burmese pythons were removed, significantly contributing to the effort to combat the spread of these invasive species. Stanberry, a contract hunter for the state, received a $10,000 prize for her accomplishment. She became the first female to win the competition, highlighting the increasing role of women in wildlife conservation efforts.
