Jimmie Ward, the Houston Texans’ safety, has been thrust into a turbulent legal spotlight as he faces a $20 million civil lawsuit alleging severe acts of domestic violence and drug-fueled assault. The lawsuit, filed in Harris County District Court, accuses Ward of physically and sexually assaulting the mother of his 3-year-old son, Cristy West, while under the influence of crystal meth. The incident occurred during the early hours of June 12 when Ward allegedly forced his way into West’s home, displaying erratic and aggressive behavior. West claims that Ward was under the influence of methamphetamines, which further exacerbated his actions.
The lawsuit, in which West is represented by attorney Tony Buzbee, seeks substantial damages, underscoring the gravity of the allegations. Buzbee is known for representing victims in high-profile sexual assault and domestic violence cases. According to the suit, Ward escalated the situation by threatening to kill West on multiple occasions, slapping and choking her, and then dragging her into a bedroom. West, fearing for her life, allegedly complied with Ward’s demands for a sexual act. After the altercation, their son awoke, and West attempted to calm him. She then fled her home, reportedly naked and visibly injured, following an incident where Ward sought her cellphone after accusing her of talking to other men.
