Jillian Michaels Challenges Netflix’s ‘Biggest Loser’ Documentary Claims

Jillian Michaels, a former coach of the popular fitness reality show ‘Biggest Loser,’ has publicly criticized a recently released Netflix documentary that portrays her in a negative light. The three-part series, which she did not participate in, has led to allegations of her being harsh on contestants and using caffeine pills to push them to their limits. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Michaels confirmed she is considering legal action due to the documentary’s accusations, which she describes as an ‘egregy lie.’

Michaels, who coached the Red Team on ‘Biggest Loser’ for 10 years starting in 2004, left the show in 2014. She is currently exploring the possibility of producing her own documentary to share her side of the story, stating that the Netflix series is filled with ‘lie upon lie.’ The original producers of the show have also expressed frustration with the documentary, calling it misleading.

Michaels addressed the specific allegations, including a contestant’s claim that she had said he would ‘make her a millionaire.’ She refuted the claim, emphasizing that there was no basis for such a statement and that the documentary misrepresented the events. Michaels also highlighted the role of the show’s doctor, Dr. Robert Huizenga, and his comments on the medical procedures used during the show.

She further discussed her decision to resign from the show in 2014, citing a response from a network executive who allegedly threatened legal action. Michaels expressed no regret about not participating in the Netflix documentary, stating she would not lend credibility to the alleged lies. The situation highlights ongoing tensions between the show’s original creators and Netflix’s portrayal of the series.
