Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of Belgium Maxime Prévot, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg Xavier Bettel, and Director General for European Cooperation of the Netherlands Heleen Bakker have announced a joint commitment of EUR 2 million to support the prosthetics center at Odesa Medical University. The initiative was unveiled during their visit to the city, highlighting the trio’s dedication to improving healthcare infrastructure in Ukraine.
The funding aims to expand the capabilities of the prosthetics center, enabling it to provide advanced prosthetic technologies and rehabilitation services to patients suffering from limb loss. This collaboration reflects the shared European interest in strengthening medical facilities in conflict-affected regions and promoting recovery for individuals impacted by wartime injuries.
Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg have worked closely on various EU initiatives, and this financial contribution is part of their broader efforts to support Ukraine’s healthcare system. The announcement was well-received by local officials and medical professionals, who emphasized the importance of such aid in addressing the ongoing challenges posed by the war in Ukraine.
