As of August 29, more than 62,000 residents from the Donetsk region and 7,000 from Dnipropetrovsk have been evacuated, according to Deputy Minister of Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Riabikin. However, over 218,000 people in Donetsk and 16,500 in Dnipropetrovsk still require evacuation. The ongoing conflict has led to significant displacement, with evacuation efforts continuing across affected regions.
The evacuation process has faced numerous challenges, including limited resources and ongoing hostilities that have hampered large-scale relocation efforts. Deputy Minister Riabikin emphasized that the government is working closely with local authorities and international organizations to improve the efficiency of evacuation operations. Despite the difficulties, officials have expressed hope that additional assistance will be available to expedite the relocation of those in need.
