The Pentagon is standing by Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness Anthony Tata as court filings reveal a legal dispute involving allegations of harassment, defamation, and extortion from a self-described astrologer, Amy Tripp. The 17-page complaint, obtained by Fox News Digital, details Doe’s claims that Tripp threatened his marriage and career while demanding money to remain silent.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell confirmed that Tata continues to have full confidence from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, emphasizing his significant contributions to the Department’s priorities. The case, filed in Palm Beach County, alleges that Tripp engaged in a relationship with Doe while he was working on a book and consulting about ‘astrological beliefs and related issues.’ Their relationship reportedly evolved into both a casual sexual and professional connection, with Doe investing in Tripp’s company, Starheal LLC, in exchange for a 5% equity stake.
A temporary restraining order was issued against Tripp on August 7, 2025, following the alleged harassment, with a summons ordering her to respond to the allegations within 20 days. While the Florida case unfolds, Tata’s career spans decades of military and public service, including service in Afghanistan and roles in education and state leadership. His current responsibilities overseeing military personnel and readiness remain a priority for the Pentagon despite the legal challenge. The attorneys for John Doe did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
