The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has dismissed reports that Los Angeles activist Juliana Calderon was kidnapped by bounty hunters and is being held at the border, calling the allegations ‘bizarre.’ Calderon’s family claims she was taken by armed men at gun, transported to the San Ysidro port of entry, and detained without access to food, water, or legal representation. Her family’s lawyer, Stephano Medina, described the situation as a violation of her rights, asserting that she was punished for demanding legal counsel and refusing to sign self-deportation paperwork.
