In an effort to bolster the capabilities of internally displaced persons (IDP) councils across Ukraine, UNHCR and the Stabilization Support Services Charitable Foundation have unveiled an online portal providing essential resources and an interactive map for these councils.
This initiative highlights the growing recognition of the critical role that IDP councils play in managing the needs of displaced populations, particularly in the context of ongoing conflict and displacement. The new platform is designed to offer practical tools and information, enabling these councils to operate more effectively and respond to the challenges they face daily.
The interactive map component of the portal is expected to enhance coordination among various stakeholders, including local authorities, humanitarian agencies, and displaced individuals. By providing a centralized hub for information, the portal aims to streamline the delivery of aid and support, ensuring that resources reach those in need more efficiently.
The launch of this portal reflects a broader strategy to empower communities through digital means, emphasizing the importance of local participation and self-governance in humanitarian efforts. UNHCR and its partners continue to prioritize the development of infrastructure and resources that enable IDP councils to function with greater autonomy and effectiveness.
