At a memorial service for her late husband, Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, Erika Kirk delivered a deeply personal speech that included her forgiveness toward the suspect in his murder. She revealed that she had forgiven Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old charged in Charlie’s death, stating, ‘It’s what Charlie would do.’
Kirk reflected on her husband’s life, describing his unwavering dedication to saving young men and his deep Christian faith. She recounted moments from their marriage, including Charlie’s habit of writing love notes to her every Saturday, which helped keep their relationship strong despite his frequent travels.
Erika also discussed the emotional impact of seeing her husband’s body after the shooting, noting a faint smile on his face that she interpreted as a sign of God’s mercy. ‘Even the doctor told me it was something so instant that even if Charlie had been shot in the operating room, nothing could have been done,’ she said.
She emphasized that Charlie ‘died with incomplete work, but not with unfinished business,’ and expressed her commitment to continue his mission as the new CEO of Turning Point USA. ‘Everything that Turning Point USA built through Charlie’s vision and hard work, we will make ten times greater through the power of his memory,’ she concluded.
