In observance of former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s 60th birthday, members of the European Solidarity faction have launched a fundraising campaign to support the acquisition of Aspirin 2.0 drone detection systems for the Ukrainian military. The initiative, organized by the Poroshenko Foundation, guarantees that all donations will be matched, doubling the impact of individual contributions.
The call to action is part of broader efforts to strengthen Ukraine’s defense infrastructure in the face of ongoing conflict with Russia. Sprava Hromad, the NGO receiving the donations, has a history of organizing civil initiatives to support Ukrainian military efforts. The Aspirin 2.0 system is designed to provide early warning and detection capabilities against drone threats, a critical concern for Ukraine given the increased use of such technology in modern warfare.
As part of the campaign, the Poroshenko Foundation has emphasized the importance of civic participation in national defense. The matching donation mechanism is intended to incentivize broader public involvement, ensuring that the military can acquire essential technology more quickly. This approach reflects the faction’s commitment to leveraging both public and private resources to support national security objectives.
