Archaeologists have uncovered a rare trove of gold and silver coins and artifacts at a secret Iron Age site in western Bohemia, including previously unknown coin types that could reshape historical understanding. The discovery was made by the Museum and Gallery of Northern Pilsen in Mariánská Týnice, with the hoard dating back to the 6th century to 1st century B.C. The site, previously unexcavated, reveals a rare, undisturbed Celtic settlement, and the artifacts may provide new insights into the region’s ancient trade and cultural practices.
