According to a report by Hackread.com, which was shared on social media platforms, a group of hackers calling themselves ‘Scattered Lapsus$ Hunters’ have claimed to have stolen a total of 989 million customer records from 39 major companies across the globe. The alleged breach was reportedly executed through a vulnerability in the Salesforce platform. The hackers have demanded that both Salesforce and the targeted companies enter negotiations before October 10, 2025. If their demands are not met, the organization plans to fully release the database of stolen records.
As per the report, the hackers have already shared data from six of the 39 companies targeted in the incident. The data includes personal information such as names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and passport numbers of the affected customers. The companies implicated in this breach include Fujifilm, GAP, INC., Vietnam Airlines, Engie Resources, Qantas Airways Limited, and Albertsons Companies, Inc. It is worth noting that the hackers have explicitly stated that they have no more data to release, claiming that they have already leaked everything that was available to them.
In a statement made available on a Telegram channel, the hackers confirmed that they have exhausted all the data they have stolen and will not be revealing any more information. The statement was an explicit response to public speculation about the possibility of further leaks. This has led to an increase in concerns about data privacy across the affected organizations and their customers. In the wake of such a breach, the companies involved are expected to take swift action to mitigate further damage and ensure the security of their data systems.
