Ukraine and France Align on Key Issues Ahead of European Council Meeting

Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva has met with Anne-marie Decot, Secretary General of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to coordinate positions ahead of the European Council meeting on October 23. The meeting was aimed at aligning Ukraine’s diplomatic strategy with France’s to ensure a cohesive approach in the upcoming discussions.

The topic of security remains a top priority for both nations. Ukraine seeks continued support for its defense initiatives, while France emphasizes the importance of a unified European response to regional security challenges. Energy cooperation also emerged as a significant point of discussion, with both parties looking to strengthen partnerships in renewable energy and energy security.

Additionally, the two leaders discussed Ukraine’s integration into European institutions, highlighting the need for the European Union to expedite its membership process.
