Georgia Senate Race: Ossoff Maintains Fundraising Lead Over GOP Challengers

Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff continues to maintain a significant fundraising advantage over the Republican candidates vying to unseat him in Georgia’s Senate race. From July through September, Ossoff raised over $12 million, as reported through the Federal Election Commission, more than double the combined amount raised by the three main GOP contenders during the same period.

Republican Rep. Mike Collins raised $1.7 million through the end of September, according to his latest FEC filing, while former football coach Derek Dooley reported raising $1.87 million. Georgia Rep. Buddy Carter disclosed raising $939,579 during the third quarter. Carter currently has the largest war chest among the three Republican candidates, with $3.9 million remaining in his campaign account as of the end of September.

The fundraising disparity between the eventual Republican Senate nominee and Ossoff is expected to narrow after the GOP primary in May as party donors and prominent figures begin to consolidate support around one candidate. For now, the financial race serves as a proxy battle for President Donald Trump’s attention, with the sitting president having yet to endorse any of the candidates in the GOP primary race.

Despite the absence of a presidential endorsement, political factions within Georgia’s Republican Party are beginning to take shape. Governor Brian Kemp has publicly endorsed Derek Dooley, while Collins has secured backing from several state legislative leaders. The competitive nature of the Georgia Senate race is expected to make it one of the most expensive contests in the 2026 election cycle, with Ossoff facing a formidable challenge from the Republican side. As the race progresses, Ossoff will need to leverage his substantial financial resources to prepare for what will likely be a vigorous bid to unseat him.
