Ukraine Set to Receive €165 Million for Mine Action in 2026

The Coalition of Demining Capabilities, a coalition of nations and organizations dedicated to mine action, has announced plans to allocate at least EU 165 million in 2026 to support Ukraine’s demining efforts. This funding is part of an ongoing initiative to bolster Ukraine’s capacity to clear landmines and unexploded ordnance (UXO) in the war-torn country.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the funding will be used to procure specialized equipment, machinery, and training for demining operations. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to restore safe access to areas affected by conflict and to support the country’s recovery efforts.

Experts suggest that the funding will also contribute to the long-term stability of Ukraine, reducing the risk of future conflicts stemming from unexploded ordnance. The Coalition has stated that this investment reflects its commitment to supporting Ukraine’s security and sovereignty in the face of ongoing challenges.
