In a wide-ranging interview, DNC Chair Ken Martin previewed Democrats’ prospects in New Jersey and Virginia and discussed the party’s challenges with redistricting. Martin has been almost everywhere since becoming DNC chair, hopping between 33 states in eight months to support the party’s efforts. He recently moved from Indianapolis, where Republican lawmakers are considering mid-cycle redistricting at Trump’s urging, to Washington for oral arguments in the Louisiana v. Callais case. This case could weaken the Voting Rights Act, further disadvantaging Democrats. Martin is also campaigning in Pennsylvania for Supreme Court retention races.
