Zorin Group has launched Zorin OS 18, calling it its biggest launch ever, on the same day Microsoft discontinued support for Windows 10. The new operating system has reportedly surpassed 100,000 downloads in just over two days, with a majority of users coming from the Windows platform. Zorin OS 18 includes an updated version of WINE 10, enhancing compatibility with Windows software, and an expanded database that identifies Windows installers and offers options for running over 170 popular applications. In addition to Zorin, initiatives like LibreOffice and the End of 10 Campaign are actively promoting Linux as a secure, cost-effective alternative to Windows. The shift is attributed to growing dissatisfaction with Windows 10’s end-of-life support and the increasing appeal of Linux’s open-source benefits.
