Former Rutgers Professor ‘Dr. Antifa’ Continues Promoting Antifa Tactics from Spain

Mark Bray, a Rutgers University professor known as ‘Dr. Antifa,’ has relocated to Spain after receiving death threats and being doxxed in the U.S. His 2017 book, ‘Antifa: The Antifascist Handbook,’ promoted doxxing and violence against the ‘Far Right,’ including scenarios of targeting political opponents with personal information and inciting riots. Bray’s work has been controversial, especially after former President Donald Trump labeled Antifa as a domestic terrorist group, leading to a petition to have him fired. The book also endorses violent tactics like looting and property damage, arguing that such actions expose systemic injustices. Despite the controversy, Bray continues to teach online from Spain, maintaining his support for militant anti-fascist strategies.

The professor’s book, based on interviews with anti-fascists from 17 countries, highlights doxxing as a legitimate tactic to disrupt far-right movements. Bray’s work has drawn criticism, particularly after Trump’s designation of Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization, leading to threats and his relocation abroad. The book also includes advocacy for violent tactics such as rioting and property destruction, while critiquing liberal anti-fascists for being too lenient on free speech. Bray’s departure from the U.S. follows pressure from groups like Turning Point USA to have him fired.
