Aaron Phypers Charged with Four Felonies Following Courtroom Arrest
Denise Richards’ estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, has been charged with four felony counts following his courtroom arrest in Los Angeles. The charges include two counts of injuring a spouse and two counts of dissuading a witness by force or threat. Phypers, who was handcuffed during his arrest, posted $200,000 bail on Friday after being escorted out of the courtroom by sheriffs.
Fox News Digital reports that Phypers was seen arguing with law enforcement while being taken from the courthouse. The charges emerged in the wake of Richards’ recent testimony in court, where she detailed the physical and emotional abuse she claims Phypers subjected her to during their tumultuous marriage.
Richards testified that Phypers not only attempted to destroy her reputation but also allegedly leaked nude photos of the ‘Wild Things’ actress. She described incidents of violent chocking, slapping, and threats of bodily harm, including a particularly traumatic incident shortly after she underwent multiple cosmetic surgeries.
The courtroom incident also revealed that Richards petitioned the court for a temporary restraining order, citing that Phypers stole her laptop and disseminated private information, including nude photographs, to various media outlets. A judge had previously ordered Phypers to return the device within 48 hours and to cease distributing any private or sensitive information.
Phypers, who filed for divorce on July 7, has denied the allegations, asserting that the claims are untrue and being used to damage his reputation. In a statement to People magazine, he emphasized that the accusations are being weaponized against him and that his actions are being misrepresented. The case continues to unfold as legal proceedings progress, with ongoing emotional and physical abuse allegations remaining central to the ongoing legal battles.
