House GOP Proposes Public Database for Illegal Immigrants Facing Deportation

Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) has introduced a House GOP bill to create a public registry of illegal immigrants with deportation orders, including personal details such as names, photos, and last known residences.

According to the legislation, the proposed database would be managed by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and would include comprehensive information on individuals who have received final orders of removal, as per the legislative text obtained by Fox News Digital. The bill is intended to enhance transparency and public safety by making these deportation orders accessible to the public.

Biggs has criticized the Biden administration for its handling of immigration enforcement, stating that the administration has focused on allowing illegal aliens of any criminal background to remain in the U.S. rather than enforcing deportation orders. He argued that making these orders publicly accessible would prevent incidents where individuals with deportation orders are able to move freely within the country.

The legislation comes in the context of ongoing efforts by DHS to track down and deport migrants who entered the U.S. illegally during the Biden administration and prior. The House Homeland Security Committee majority reported that more than 10 million unauthorized border crossings were detected under the prior administration, according to the article.

Biggs also referenced recent events, including the arrest of former Des Moines Public Schools superintendent Ian Roberts, who was accused of falsifying citizenship documents and subsequently arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). This incident is used to underscore the challenges in enforcing immigration laws and the need for a more transparent system.
