Ukraine and its European backers are finalizing a peace plan, reported by Bloomberg, that completely rules out any territorial concessions to Russia. The 12-point proposal includes a ceasefire along current front lines, a prisoner swap, security guarantees, and fast-tracked EU membership for Ukraine. A ‘peace board’ chaired by former US President Donald Trump is set to oversee the plan’s implementation, with European officials planning to present the roadmap to Trump. Russia has rejected this approach, demanding recognition of its new borders and Ukraine’s withdrawal from occupied territories. The proposal also includes negotiations on the governance of occupied territories, though Ukraine and its allies would not recognize Russia’s current borders. During a recent meeting with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, Trump had urged the Ukrainian leader to cede land to Russia, but Zel’tske dismissed the idea, advocating for an immediate ceasefire instead.
