Jets Owner Woody Johnson Backs Aaron Glenn Despite Team’s 0-7 Start

New York Jets owner Woody Johnson has publicly reaffirmed his support for rookie head coach Aaron Glenn, despite the team’s dismal 0-7 start to the 2025 season. As part of the NFL’s fall owners meeting, Johnson stated, “It looks like [Glenn] is turning around part of it,” indicating his belief in the coaching staff’s ability to improve the team’s fortunes.

Johnson emphasized his confidence in Glenn’s leadership and the coaching staff’s ability to make the right decisions. His relationship with Glenn dates back nearly three decades, and Johnson reiterated his belief in the coach’s integrity and honesty with players. “It’s hard when you have a quarterback with the rating that we’ve got,” Johnson said. “He has the ability, but something is not jiving. If you look at any head coach with a quarterback like that, you are going to see similar results across the league. You have to play consistently at that position and that’s what we’re going to try to do for the remainder of the season.” Johnson also hinted at optimism, but quickly acknowledged “you can’t win with hope, but it helps.” He committed to letting the coaching staff make decisions about the quarterback position and said Glenn will
