Ukraine Announces 12-Hour Power Outages Amid Ongoing Energy Crisis

Following the aftermath of a significant Russian missile and drone attack on the power system on October 22, Ukraine’s National Power Company (NPC) Ukrenergo has announced that hourly power outages will be enforced across 12 regions from 07:00 to 23:00 on Thursday. This measure is a continuation of the country’s ongoing efforts to manage the damage to its energy infrastructure and ensure a stable power supply amid the ongoing conflict.

The attack on October 22 has resulted in extensive damage to critical power infrastructure, including transformer stations and power lines, leading to a severe disruption in energy supply. Ukrenergo has been working diligently to restore power to affected regions while also implementing strategies to prevent further damage and ensure the resilience of the energy grid.

As the energy crisis continues, Ukrainian officials have emphasized the need for international support to rebuild and strengthen the country’s power infrastructure. This includes requests for advanced energy technology, funding for reconstruction efforts, and assistance in protecting critical energy facilities from future attacks.
