Halperin: Bipartisan Inquiry Into Biden’s Health ‘Cover-Up’ Would Be Best for Country

Political commentator Mark Halperin has advised Democratic lawmakers to consider participating in a bipartisan probe into the alleged cover-up of former President Joe Biden’s health issues, arguing that such an investigation is essential for the country. During an interview with Fox News Channel host Brian Kilmeade on his show ‘One Nation,’ Halperin suggested that Democratic Party members should engage with Republican counterparts in scrutinizing the White House’s alleged efforts to hide Biden’s deteriorating mental and physical condition during his presidency. He emphasized that this inquiry could serve both the public interest and the political interests of the Democratic Party, which has faced growing scrutiny for its alleged role in concealing information about Biden’s health.

Halperin’s comments follow heightened public and political focus on Biden’s mental and physical health, especially after the release of a new book by CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios reporter Alex Thompson, titled ‘Original Sin.’ The book alleges that the Biden White House engaged in a systematic effort to control the narrative surrounding the aging president’s failing health, ultimately leading to the disastrous decision to run for re-election. The book’s claims have intensified pressure on the White House as reports indicate that House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, a Republican from Kentucky, is planning to investigate alleged roles of key Biden aides in obscuring the president’s health problems from the public.

The growing scrutiny has also led to discussions among White House reporters who have spoken out about the potential deliberate concealment of Biden’s mental decline. Comer, in a recent statement, indicated that high-ranking staff members may have been engaged in activities that ‘ran interference for President Biden’ to prevent his worsening condition from becoming public during his time in office. Halperin believes that GOP efforts to launch a formal investigation present a significant opportunity for Democratic lawmakers to reestablish their credibility and demonstrate transparency. He suggested that bipartisan investigations would not only align with public interest but also provide political benefits, as he believes that Democratic leaders could gain from the process.

Halperin also emphasized that it would be in the interests of the country to have a comprehensive inquiry that includes all major political parties. He argued that the Democratic Party, in particular, has a strong incentive to participate in such an investigation, as its credibility has been called into question due to its involvement in the cover-up. Halperin concluded by expressing hope that the process would be bipartisan and that the outcome would reflect the nation’s interest in uncovering the truth, regardless of political affiliations.
