Former NFL star Adrian Peterson was arrested in Texas over the weekend for driving while intoxicated (DWI). The 40-year-old was taken into custody on Sunday morning and remained in jail as of Sunday afternoon. This arrest marks his second DWI charge of the year, following a similar incident in April. The former Minnesota Vikings star was also hit with a Class A misdemeanor weapons charge.
Peterson, a former NFL MVP and Hall of Fame running back, has a history of legal troubles. In April, he was arrested after the NFL Draft for a DWI charge, reportedly driving at 83 mph in a 55 mph zone. He had previously faced an altercation with his wife in 2022 and was involved in a viral poker-related fight in Houston, which led to plans for a Celebrity Boxing match. These incidents further complicate the legacy of one of the NFL’s greatest running backs.
