Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has taken a proactive step to refocus his team’s attention on the field by removing entertainment items from the locker room. Following a 1-5 start to the season, Jackson, who missed the game against the Chicago Bears due to a hamstring injury, ordered the removal of video game consoles, Ping, and cornhole boards. He told reporters that the decision was aimed at fostering a more serious mindset and improving concentration during critical moments in the game.
Although the initial reports suggested that head coach John Harbaugh had made the decision, Jackson clarified that he personally requested the change. The Ravens’ victory over the Bears, led by backup quarterback Tyler Huntley, was seen as a positive outcome, with Jackson expressing hope that the team will continue to improve in upcoming matchups. He emphasized that while the team needs to focus on the game, he still respects the dedication and seriousness of his teammates.
Jackson, a two-time MVP, has been out of the Ravens’ lineup since Sept. 28 with an injury. The Ravens’ win over the Bears improved them to 2-5 on the season, and with Jackson returning, they will take on the Miami Dolphins (2-6) Thursday night with hopes of another win. The Ravens are third in the AFC North behind the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3) and Cincinnati Bengals (3-5). A win over the Dolphins would move the Ravens closer to contention.
