Miranda Lambert, a 41-year-old country musician, has taken up a new Wild West-style hobby—mounted shooting—after being introduced to it by her friend and 10-time world champion Ken Shane. In a recent interview on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast, Lambert revealed she became addicted to the sport last year, which involves shooting at balloons while riding a horse. She admitted she wasn’t sure she had the courage to participate but was encouraged by her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, to give it a try.
Lambert described the sport as a way to break away from the pressures of the music industry and find a new passion. She explained how she and McLoughlin’s backgrounds in law enforcement and firefighting influenced their shared interests, including their love for firearms. The couple, who live between Nashville and Texas, now split their time between the two locations, enjoying the cowboy lifestyle.
