Parliamentary Committee Recommends Adopting Law on Mobilization Deferment for Servicemen

The Parliamentary Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence has recommended that the Verkhovna Rada adopt a bill on deferment from mobilization for servicemen who served for a year under the 18-25 contract, according to committee member Iryna Friz (European Solidarity faction). This proposal is part of an ongoing effort to address the needs and recognition of military personnel who have completed their service obligations under the 3-year contract.

The measure would provide these servicemen with a deferment from further mobilization, which could serve as a form of reward and recognition for their service. It is intended to ease the burden on the armed forces by allowing those who have already served their contracted term to be exempt from additional deployment responsibilities. This could also help retain experienced personnel within the military, ensuring greater stability and operational readiness.

Committee member Iryna Friz emphasized the importance of recognizing the contributions of military personnel, stating that the proposed law would be a significant step toward honoring their service. The bill is expected to be considered by the Verkhovna Rada in the coming weeks, with the potential to impact policies related to military service and national defense in the country.
