Underwater UFO Sightings Spark Government Transparency Debate

A popular UFO-reporting app, Enigma, has reportedly recorded tens of thousands of mysterious underwater objects along the United States’ coastlines. These sightings have prompted speculation and questions about government transparency regarding unidentified aerial phenomena. According to Marine Technology News, over 9,000 sightings were documented since August 2025, with some occurring within five miles of coastal areas.

The objects, known as Unidentified Submersible Objects (USOs), are defined as any underwater entity that cannot be immediately identified or explained. Witnesses often describe these objects as moving at high speeds, performing precise directional changes, and demonstrating ‘transmedium’ capabilities by transitioning between water and air. Experts like Kent Heckenlively and retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet have raised concerns about the potential implications of these sightings, suggesting they might pose a risk to U.S. maritime security.

Heckenlively, author of Catastrophic Disclosure: Aliens, The Deep State and The Truth, told Fox News Digital that the reports of underwater vessels detecting craft moving at exceptionally high speeds underwater are perplexing. He suggested that these sightings could indicate either an unknown phenomenon or that our technology is detecting ‘ghosts’ underwater. Similar concerns were raised by retired Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, who argued that the Pentagon’s release of video footage showing mysterious maritime activity highlights the need for transparency in national security issues.

The data collected by Enigma also indicates that the highest number of sightings are concentrated in California and Florida. With 389 reported sightings in California and 306 in Florida, these states are at the forefront of the mystery. The presence of multiple clusters of activity has led experts and officials to express concerns about the potential threats these objects could pose to national security. Heckenlively emphasized that the ocean seems like a natural hiding place for such entities, raising questions about how these objects could exist on Earth and remain hidden.

Enigma and the Pentagon did not immediately respond to requests for comment from Fox News Digital. However, Heckenlively believes that the data collected by non-governmental organizations like Enigma can serve as a tool for increasing transparency and pressure on officials to address these security concerns. He stated that public disclosure of findings could act as a form of ‘sunlight’ that exposes corruption and ensures accountability. The debate continues, with both experts and the public eagerly awaiting further information and clarification from the government.
