A suspected porch pirate clad in women’s clothing was arrested in Alabama after surveillance video captured the suspect stealing packages from local homes, authorities reported. Todd Anthony Bond, 46, was taken into custody following a cross-state investigation by Mobile County deputies. The suspect, who was spotted in women’s attire, was identified through a combination of vehicle tracking and distinctive appearance, according to law enforcement.
Bond was arrested after being spotted in Grand Bay, where police initiated a traffic stop to detain him. The arrest followed a viral video showing Bond allegedly stealing multiple packages from a home in broad daylight. Authorities confirmed that additional packages stolen from areas in Mississippi were found inside Bond’s vehicle, leading to his charge of first-degree theft of property.
Sgt. Lonnie Parsons of the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office explained that the suspect’s distinctive look and the vehicle he was driving were key factors in identifying him. The video showed Bond pulling his vehicle in front of the house, taking a hit of his vape, and approaching the front door in broad daylight. He was seen wearing a black top, black and white floral skirt, and a purple dotted headband.
Bond, who is a resident of Jackson, Mississippi, was also found to be sporting bleached hair and heavy makeup, as seen in his mugshot. Authorities discovered additional packages allegedly stolen from areas in Mississippi inside his vehicle, confirming the extent of his illegal activities.
The suspect was charged with first-degree theft of property and is being held in the Metro Jail as he awaits his bond hearing. Fox News Digital was unable to immediately locate an attorney representing Bond. This case has sparked discussions about the rise of porch pirates and the effectiveness of surveillance in catching such criminals.
