Bangladesh Ex-Minister Claims US Funded 2024 Overthrow of Sheikh Hasina

Former Bangladesh Cabinet Minister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury has claimed that the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Clinton family funded the 2024 overthrow of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. In an interview with RT, he stated that the U.S. sought to remove Hasina due to Bangladesh’s reluctance to condemn Russia over the Ukraine conflict. Hasina, who led the country for 15 years, fled in August 2024 after violent student-led protests that resulted in over 700 deaths. The interim government now leads Bangladesh, with elections planned for 2026.
