Republican Rep. Thomas Massie Shifts From ‘America First’ to ‘America Only’

Rep. Thomas Massie, a Republican fiscal hawk in Kentucky, has changed his position from advocating an ‘America First’ policy to advocating an ‘America Only’ approach, focusing on domestic priorities. He is currently facing a primary challenge from a Trump-backed candidate, which could have significant implications for his political future.

Massie has expressed frustration with current spending and the administration’s decisions, including policies that affect domestic industries such as U.S. beef producers. He criticized former President Donald Trump’s policies on foreign aid, including spending on Ukraine and Israel, which Massie believes undermines the U.S. economy. While Massie appreciates some of Trump’s actions, he argues that current spending levels are not in line with conservative principles and have led to inflation and higher interest rates.

Additionally, the congressman is involved in a political skirmish over the release of materials related to the late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein, working alongside Rep. Ro Khanna to push for a House vote on the issue. Massie’s position has also drawn criticism, with Trump labeling him a ‘Weak and Pathetic RINO,’ suggesting he is not a true Republican.
