Ukrainian Entrepreneurs Report Key Challenges Amid Persistent Optimism

Entrepreneurs operating in Ukraine have identified four main risks of operating in the country, but still remain optimistic, said EBA Executive Director Anna Derevyanko. The report highlights ongoing concerns about rising operational costs, inconsistent electricity supply, and the loss of skilled workers due to various factors. Despite these challenges, many business leaders in Ukraine continue to express confidence in the country’s economic prospects.

The EBA, which represents the interests of businesses in Ukraine, emphasizes the need for stable and predictable policies to foster a more favorable business environment. According to Derevyanko, addressing issues such as pricing mechanisms and improving access to reliable electricity is crucial for sustaining growth. Additionally, the report suggests that the outflow of personnel—particularly in sectors like technology and manufacturing—poses a significant threat to long-term development.

Consumers in Ukraine are also noted as a key factor influencing business operations. The changing legislative field and regulatory uncertainty create additional challenges for entrepreneurs who must constantly adapt to new requirements. Despite these concerns, the overall sentiment remains positive, with many business leaders believing that Ukraine’s strategic position and access to European markets will continue to drive economic activity in the coming years.
