Senate Approves Epstein Files Bill, Sends to Trump for Signature

Following the House’s near-unanimous approval of the Epstein files bill, Senate Majority Leader John Thune has expressed confidence that the bill will be passed by the full Senate soon. Speaking to reporters, Thune stated that the Senate could potentially pass the bill through unanimous consent, a procedural mechanism requiring agreement from all 300 members of the Senate. Thune emphasized that while there may be some hesitation among Republican senators, the overwhelming support from the House suggests that the bill will see a swift passage.

Thune also noted that President Donald Trump has reportedly expressed willingness to sign the bill, further bolstering the likelihood of its swift passage. However, the situation remains complex with the Senate Minority Leader, Chuck Schumer, indicating that any attempt to alter the bill could prompt a formal vote and force Republicans to publicly support the measure. The Democrats have also made it clear that any attempts to amend the bill will be met with opposition, maintaining the status quo of the House version of the bill.
