Putin Enacts Mandatory Work Placement for Young Doctors

President Vladimir Putin has signed legislation requiring medical students enrolled in state-funded residency programs at medical universities to complete a mandatory work placement at public hospitals and clinics for up to three years. The new law aims to ensure that graduates are well-prepared for the challenges of modern healthcare by gaining hands-on experience in real-world medical settings. This requirement applies to all students in state-funded programs, which account for the majority of medical education in Russia.
