A bipartisan coalition of pro-Ukraine lawmakers is seeking to force a House vote on imposing severe sanctions on Russia, despite President Donald Trump’s efforts to negotiate a peace deal with Ukraine. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) announced a discharge petition to expedite the process, countering Trump’s push for a peace plan that would cede eastern Ukraine to Russia.
Fitzpatrick, responding to news that Trump wants the Ukrainian government to approve the draft peace deal assembled by his envoy Steve Witkoff, stated that he and his allies have
