Deputy Health Minister Maria Karchevych has raised concerns about the challenges faced by the new digital disability assessment system. The system was implemented to replace the Medical and Social Expert Commissions (MSECs) in assessing the daily functioning of individuals with disabilities. However, the transition has been met with several obstacles, including the issue of document forgery and the challenge of digitizing outdated paper records.
Karchevych noted that these problems are significantly impeding the system’s ability to function as intended. The presence of forged documents complicates the verification process, while the inability to digitize old paper files creates inefficiencies. These issues are not only affecting the speed of assessments but also the accuracy of the information being processed.
The Deputy Health Minister has called for immediate action to address these challenges. She emphasized the importance of ensuring that the digital system can effectively handle the transition from paper-based records to a fully digitized process. The challenges highlight the complexities involved in modernizing administrative systems and the need for robust verification mechanisms to prevent fraud.
