Senate Democrats Introduce Bill to Hold El Salvador Accountable for Alleged Trump Collusion

Senate Democrats have introduced legislation on Thursday to hold the Salvadoran government accountable for alleged collusion with the Trump administration. The bill, titled the El Salvador Accountability Act of 2025, aims to sanction Salvadoran authorities for their involvement in the imprisonment of U.S. citizens without due process. This initiative follows the Trump administration’s decision to deport over 200 alleged gang members to El Salvador, including Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a suspected human trafficker and suspected MS-13 gang member. Critics argue that this action violates constitutional rights and undermines due process.
