ICE Arrests Mexican National Accused of Rape and Assault Amid LA Political Outcry

ICE agents arrested Arturo Terron-Quevedo, an illegal Mexican national wanted for rape and violent crimes in Baldwin Park, California, amid local officials’ claims that federal agents were unfairly targeting non-criminal immigrants. The arrest took place in the backdrop of ongoing anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles, where city officials accused the agency of disproportionately focusing on undocumented immigrants without criminal histories.

During an exclusive video shared with Fox News, Terron-Quevedo was seen being handcuffed near what appears to be Baldwin Park’s City Hall. A senior ICE official confirmed that the arrest was made by an ICE Los Angeles officer and an IRS criminal investigator, who acted after Terron-Quevedo was released from local custody. The individual faces pending charges of rape, assault with a deadly weapon likely to cause great bodily injury, and inflicting corporal injury.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and 30 other city officials held a press conference to state that ICE operations were unfair, particularly towards undocumented immigrants without criminal records. Baldwin Park Mayor Alejandra Avila issued a statement affirming the city’s support for all community members, including undocumented residents, amid the unrest. The city’s police department emphasized its commitment to ensuring safety for all residents, while also clarifying its non-involvement in civil immigration enforcement.
